Weekend Wrap-Up: National Grade Finals

This past weekend, our Rhythmoids competed at the National Grade Finals held on June 15 and 16, 2024, at the University of Northumbria in Newcastle. Under the dedicated coaching of Katie O’Connor, our athletes faced the challenges of this prestigious competition with determination and grace.

Outstanding Achievements

Starting off the weekend, Jade and Lily-Rose tackled the demanding Grade 10 category. Both Rhythmoids faced a challenging lead-up to the competition, with Lily-Rose sitting her GCSEs until the day before and Jade battling illness right up to the event. Despite some mistakes, they each managed to complete all three routines, demonstrating their resilience and ability to adapt.

  • Jade finished 11th Overall, with 18th in Hoop, 7th in Ball, and 12th in Ribbon.

  • Lily-Rose placed 20th Overall, achieving 20th in Hoop, 18th in Ball, and 21st in Ribbon.

On Sunday, Pippa competed in Grade 7 and had an outstanding performance. She started strong with a brilliant hoop routine, showcasing significant improvements. Despite facing challenges in her Clubs routine, where she had two costly drops, she still managed to secure 6th place, which is a fantastic achievement.

Coaches’ Corner

Coach Katie O’Connor expressed her pride in the Rhythmoids, stating, “I am beyond proud of all the girls! They have all worked so hard, and it really showed on the carpet. Despite the difficulties they faced, they performed admirably and represented our club with pride.”

As we celebrate this weekend's accomplishments, we look forward to the continued growth and success of our talented Rhythmoids. Thank you to everyone for their hard work and dedication!

Until next time!
