The competition season is in full swing and South Essex Gymnastics Club delivered another standout performance at the Rhythmic Excellence Tournament, held in London on February 22nd-23rd. With National Grades in Birmingham just around the corner, this event was the perfect opportunity for our gymnasts to refine their routines and build confidence ahead of the big stage.
Another Strong Set of Results
Under the expert guidance of Danielle Paul, Katie O’Connor and Jade Woollard, our athletes continued to showcase their talent, poise and hard work. The competition was fierce, but our gymnasts rose to the occasion, delivering outstanding performances across multiple categories:
Isabella Bixby (U9): 3rd in Free, 5th in Hoop, 3rd All-Around & Best Artistry Award!
Emily Ross (U9): 4th in Free, 4th in Hoop, 4th All-Around
Shania Rae Williams (U9): 6th in Free
Pippa Harrison (Pre-Junior): 5th in Clubs
Senior Group: 1st in Hoop/Ball, 1st All-Around
Espoir Group: 3rd in 5 Balls, 3rd All-Around
A special congratulations goes to Isabella Bixby, who received the Best Artistry Award, an incredible achievement! As one of the youngest gymnasts in the competition, Isabella’s performance stood out above all others, impressing the judges with her expression, elegance and presence on the floor. This recognition is a testament to her hard work and natural talent.
Confidence Building for National Grades
This tournament marked the final competition before National Grades in Birmingham next weekend, making it a crucial test for our gymnasts. It was fantastic to see them all looking confident, prepared, and competition-ready. Every performance reflected the dedication they have put into training, and this experience will no doubt serve them well as they take on their next challenge.
Looking Ahead
With another successful competition behind us, the focus now shifts to National Grades a key event in the rhythmic gymnastics calendar. The team has shown they are ready to step up and we can’t wait to see them showcase their routines on a national stage.
A huge well done to all the gymnasts and a big thank you to our coaching team for their continued support and dedication. Here’s to more success in the coming weeks let’s go Team SEGC!
