A Bit About Me

My Name is Anthony Wise, better known as Wizza and I am the Head Men’s Coach at SEGC. I started gymnastics at SEGC at the age of 3 and have been here ever since - 25 years! As a child I went through our whole system here at SEGC having done Preschool, Recreational Gymschool, Boys development programme and lastly our mens squad programme which led me to becoming an international Senior gymnast for Great Britain. I was a multiple British Champion on Floor, Pommel horse and Vault as a Junior Athlete. As a Senior athlete I competed at multiple World Cups for GBR, with my best result being in 2014 where I placed 5th on Pommel Horse at the Osijek World Cup in Croatia with a score of 15.05. My proudest moment as a gymnast! After this in 2014 I decided to switch my focus to full time coaching and have done ever since and in 2019 officially became the Men’s Head Coach here at SEGC - my dream job. As a personal coach I have had multiple British Champions, Junior international champions, 3 Youth Olympic Champions, Junior European medalists and a Senior European, Commonwealth, World Cup and World championship medalist. The Mens programme that I run also currently has 16 National Squad Athletes, with 13 GBR Squad gymnasts, 2 Bulgarian Squad gymnasts and 1 Indian Squad Gymnast. This is something I am very proud of the gymnasts, coaches and the club for achieving. I owe so much to SEGC and it is my goal to give back to the club by helping as many of our Mens Artistic members reach their potential in our sport as possible!
